It's filling! It takes about 5-6 minutes to make a batch of about 10 cubes. It keeps going till the basket is full.

>> No.20108779

I find if you use lots of ice (knowing much of it will melt so plan accordingly with extra strong coffee, tea, etc) and use an insulated cup it gets super fucking cold. I keep refilling my insulated mug with tap water and it's still about 1/3 ice, just takes a minute for it to get cold enough to stop the ice melting. It works!

>>20108767
In this case it's portable so you fill it with water. I have 2 x 10L flagons of distilled water I'm using in it. Makes ice until the basket is full or the water runs out. It's NOT a freezer so the ice will slowly melt away (back into the reservoir underneath the basket) over the next 24 hours. So you can full a tub of fresh ice and keep it in the freezer and turn the machine off, or keep it running if you're having people over or plan to use ice all day.

It keeps it cold but only enough to slow down the melting, I think 24 hours is pretty good. You can leave it on perpetually and it'll keep making fresh ice on top as the ice on the bottom slowly dissolves and drips down. It's a hundred bucks anon this is a joy! Plus you can also just make a shitton of ice and store it in a freezer if you really want to.

I'm gonna spearmint with it tonight by storing some in the freezer but also letting it run through tomorrow, and see how well it maintains the ice when I get home from work tomorrow.

no it's not. You'll know that once you get to know good clear ice. The shape is shit and you cannot make the ice cubes of arbitrary size.

>what impurities? I'm using fucking distilled water.
minerals and dissolved gasses. You pay 100x the price of tap water so ignore the minerals but gasses still remain, causing the cloudy center of the cubes.

good ice comes in large slabs of crystal clear ice that you can cut into any size and shape you need. There is no better ice than picrel.

maaan it's such a joy! I've had it only a few days now and it's amazing. It auto-shuts off when the ice is full and if the ice starts to melt it just pipes up automatically and replenishes. I'm shocked those don't exist. A lot of people absolutely can't manage the plumbing or they rent and aren't allowed to. Just have a fucking reservoir already and let people manage in-unit rather than tie the whole fucking thing into your house
