nobody talking about "GMOs bad" is referring to selecting randomly mutating crops for favorable properties. they are invariably using "GMO" as a synonym for advanced modern gene manipulation techniques, and usually, they specifically mean stuff like GURTs

you know this of course but will now proceed to spam me with a bunch of youtube videos that I have to give you a point-by-point refutation of and if I don't spend 14 hours doing that you "win" because despite your supposed KEWL SCIENCE AND LOGIC religion, you actually are quite hostile to knowledge and facts and are simply using those as religious talismans to ward off evil spirits

My agenda is to stop people from being dicks if the alternative is famine.
We've been fucking with plant DNA for 20k years and just because we've gotten better at it doesn't mean we need to freeze the process in current year like we've already done with animal husbandry. It's the one place where the hubris of the scientific community is warranted because we've been doing it longer with more success than anything other than domesticating animals. Just because you start the process with a petri dish doesn't mean it ain't still agriculture.
And I question the motives of anyone who out of one side of their mouth is trying to reduce CO2 (the stuff plants breathe) and opposes more robust crops.
