How much are loosies going for these days? They used to be 50 cent here in NYC but I imagine that isn't the case anymore? Probably a whole dollar now? Sodas are like $1.75. So that's still an L of a deal for $5.

Yes, but it has to be fake. You can't put cigarettes on display for sale, and the signage is from a major supermarket chain.

It probably would up here. This was back in like 2017-2018. A pack was going for anywhere from 8.50 to 13.00. And that's if you were paying in the hood. If you went downtown Manhattan they were charging like $16-$18 a pack. I only know because this white chick I used to date used to smoke and she would ask me to buy cigs for her because they would charge me like $9 but if they saw her they would charge her $12. I don't smoke cigs so I couldn't even tell how much they're charging for loosies nowadays but if they're charging more than a $1 then you might as well just buy a fucking pack.

A pack is 20 cigarettes
If you sell them for $.50 you only make $10
You're not selling them for $.50 when a pack is $16-18. At those prices you're selling loosies for $3-4.
Even if you buy them for less, the price of a loosie is set by the local rate for a pack of smokes
The three types of people who buy loosies
People who have just quit
People who ran out
People who are underage
These demographics will pay well over market rate for loosies

>> No.20099347

>>20099300
Nigga I just told you that a pack of cigs were $8 back then. That's .40 a cig, which means they were making a .10 profit. I do agree that majority of the people I seen buying loosies were broke people, bums, and homeless/people collecting bottles and shit like that. Sometimes drug dealers and shit. But again, this was back in 2017, I imagine the price of cigarettes naturally went up? Just like everything else. Hence why I originally asked what loosies are going for nowadays. Also, the places that were selling packs of cigs for $16-18 a pack didn't even sell loose cigs, pretty sure it's illegal to do that in the first place.

>> No.20100438

a 25% profit is not sustainable
you want your costs to be no more than 30% of your gross income
you'd want to sell them for $1.25 in that situation
it is illegal and the fines are steep so you have to make overhead for that

How many CamelCa$h or Marlblo miles you still have kicking around in storage?
Or did they do 3-Packs well into the 2000s?
IDK, because I was buying American spirits loose tobacco for $20/Pound at the local health food store and rolling 'em up with Rizlas.

smoking could also be used to mean shooting someone with a gun
so he could be talking about taking a smoke break or about murdering a homo
