Do you guys like absinthe? I know a lot of people hate this stuff and I don't get it. I love black licorice, anise, and I also love bitter shit like black coffee and 100% chocolate. I was kinda shocked that I much preferred it without sugar and with only a 1:3 ratio of booze to water but I guess it makes sense. This is Dillon's, a brand from ontario that has lemon balm in it. Gives it some nice citrusy flavors so you don't really need sugar. I think it looks gorgeous, but I'm an absinthe noob so I dunno. I just dripped ice water into it from a pitcher.

I haven't consumed absinthe in forever and still have the stupid ass spoon. It's just whatever. I try not to drink anymore.

I guess its a love it or hate it thing for most people, except for you where its just 'meh'. Yo, the spoon isn't stupid. There's history and culture there bro, just like the dumbass fountains with the naked art nouveau bitches, shit is cool imo.

I literally bought sugar cubes to do the ritual, used a fork (instead of spoon) in a real absinthe glass I own, but the glass is tiny. It was way too sweet, so I just dripped ice water into it over a spoon, like you'd do with a white russian or other drink like that, with no sugar so I could watch it change colors and consistency like a chimp watching a magic trick. I've done it 5 times in the last 6 hours and it never gets old. I tried some absinthe my mother had that for sure needed sugar but I don't know what brand that was. I'll have to ask tomorrow

Yep, it's great, you can also make great absinthe cocktails. I prefer it without sugar too.

Yeah, and I have a bottle or two sitting on my shelf. Don't really drink all that often, so it just sits there. One is Lucid I think, the other is some knock off probably.

i've got a bottle but i don't like it. it's too one-note, just a big heaping mouthful of black licorice with nothing else going on. i like black licorice too but god damn.
