In Bangkok, they've been cooking this soup continuously for 49 years, has anybody actually tried this? What the hell does it taste like?

>> No.20064641

it tastes like soup that's been stewing for 45 years

"forever stews" or "forever soups" exist everywhere and they're perfectly safe as long as they've been handled properly and kept at the right temperature so bacteria can't grow.

I did a crock pot forever soup for about a month using scraps from cooking and some broth/water each night to keep it topped up and it was great until I ran out of anything to throw in.

The EU outright banned them. Caused some uproar in Italy where some lady couldn't sell her pasta sauce anymore that she always simmered for 2 days

It's still Theseus' ship.
Think about if we were talking about a house instead of a ship.
He replaces every board in the house, is it no longer his house?

You completely misunderstood what the ship of Theseus is about.
Nobody is saying that the ship no longer belongs to him after all parts are replaced. They're saying it's not the same ship he started with.
If I buy a house, tear it down, and build a new one that means the new house is also mine, but it's not the one I bought.
I'm not big on the philosophy stuff myself, but holy shit are you WAY in over your head.

The cells in your body die and are replaced with new cells.
After 7 years, every single cell in your body has been replaced.

7 years from now, will you no longer be YOU???

There is no answer because our concept of oneness is a flawed heuristic.

Brains don't have cell overturn and are absolutely where "the personality is stored"
None of it matters because the point is that our concept of identity doesn't work when put under scrutiny.

I got hit by a car and it severed my peroneal? nerve
It started reconnecting almost 12 years to the day after my leg went lights out
Oh wait I'm thinking about nerve regeneration, not replacement, maybe that does happen every 7 years or so
You can regenerate about 1mm of nerve and a snapped leg nerve pulls back 12-ish mm
You could very well be looking at a faster recovery
Tell you what, start taking NAC, that really helped me when I started walking on my weird little babby leg
