"forever stews" or "forever soups" exist everywhere and they're perfectly safe as long as they've been handled properly and kept at the right temperature so bacteria can't grow.

I did a crock pot forever soup for about a month using scraps from cooking and some broth/water each night to keep it topped up and it was great until I ran out of anything to throw in.

Nobody is saying that the ship no longer belongs to him after all parts are replaced. They're saying it's not the same ship he started with.
If I buy a house, tear it down, and build a new one that means the new house is also mine, but it's not the one I bought.
