Does anyone else hate American Cheese? The overly processed wrapped slices. Got reminded it was a thing watching a Youtube vid, and it reminded me I fucking despise it, it tastes artificial as hell. literal lab made cheese.

thats not American cheese the same way a cherry soda is not a cherry, its just cherry flavored.
American cheese is any cheese mixed with a simple salt emulsifier so it doesn't break when melted

I only eat kraft singles on burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches. I consider it more of a condiment than a cheese. Pic related is an actual cheese that's good enough to eat on its own. Our local mexican restaurants use it.
