Based.
Avocado oil is a complete scam. All avocado oil is either fake or rancid.

avocado oil is not fucking "rancid" that's literally just how avocado smells. scrape a bit of avocado meat off the side after eating one and wait for it to become oily then sniff it, that's what avocado smells like

It’s trash. Oil of all kinds are lies. Olive oil, esp in the US has the same problem. But avocado oil, the real stuff, has such a short self life, it is not worth using, you are paying for literal garbage.
If I could find olive oil producers that adulterate their oils I’d push the owners into the cold presses and turn them into oil as well.
Our food system in the US is completely fucked. The USDA has no power and is lacking extreme funding.

the only thing I can do is buy from reputable sellers who have been tested externally. I use only a small handful of oils because anything you see on the shelf is the same fucking trash as Chinese gutter oil.

This is literally a cancer institute. Their page says as long as you aren't cooking past the smoke point, there's little evidence to suggest that any of these cause cancer. It's all about the smoke and what they release when burnt/cooked past smoke point.

I read this and it said to check for rancidity you have to smell it. If it smells pungent and/or like weird playdough, it's rancid. I smelled the bottles I got from the store and neither of them smell that way. I think this article is perhaps coping a little. Perhaps seething a bit.

Both the Chosen and Costco oil are refined. Chosen says no "harsh chemicals" are used, but the only harsh chemical used in food oil refining is with acid degumming, for the rest it's just water and and bleaching earth. It's a pretty safe guess Chosen is hydro-degummed, deoderized and bleached.

Despite only using water, deodorisation is done at very high temperature. If you're a hypochondriac don't look up 3-mcpd/ge or refined avocado oil will give you brainfog.

Virgin Avocado oil has far too strong a taste to be useful for much. Like trying to make mayo with EVO, disgusting.

Look at it this way, most people that don't have an accident and aren't fat asses live to around 60-80 years. They all used sneed oils. Sneed oil or not you aren't significantly changing your life. its confusing trying to figure out which oils are adulterated or bad for other reasons, so I just cut out cooking oils from any thing I cook, and stick to animal products. Though my favorite is California olive ranch reserve "bold and peppery" and it only has the OOCC label, if you're poor buy costco's cali evoo, it has the COOC label only and it's okay for cali evoo which is still awesome buy the diluted shit from europoor
