I have had family members look at me in genuine bafflement when explaining that you can reduce the power from 100.

And then I've had the same family members express the same thing when explaining the same thing again.

Changing the power on mine is locked for some reason, but defrost works fine which is what I usually need anyway for lower-power purposes. Can probably look up how to unlock it but hasn't been a real issue for me thus far.

there is no proper use for it other than unshielding it, burying it, and using it when the machines try to march onto your property.

Either, stop, stir, put back in, heat again.
Or, add time and reduce power. I might put a bowl of soup or bowl of oatmeal in there at 50% power for 6 minutes, rather than 3mins at 100%.

>> No.19996999

it's a fucking microwave no need to get fancy. Put food in and press 1 or 2 min. Stir and do another minute. All that fancy power shit means nothing. The radiation waves just hit the food the same way.

Popcorn button isn't a preset in a lot of microwaves. It's sensor based.

I have sharp from about 20 years ago. the power levels do not seem to do anything. I called sharp when I first got it and they were no help as to if something was wrong.

I found that the hamburger defrost button works great for reheating 90% of food in it.

I only use full power when heating water in it.

the popcorn button works perfectly and so does the baked potato button.

I have another small microwave that is only about 700 watts, and it works way better for reheating things.

>> No.19997030

Option A: drizzle some water on it if it needs it and hit sensor reheat
Option B: put a damp paper towel over it if it needs it and hit sensor reheat
Option C: Hit the popcorn button
Option D: Microwave the corn in the cob on high for 4 minutes
Option E: Follow the package instructions
Option F: Run it til shit melts in the cup

I genuinely don't think I've done anything else with a microwave in decades.

if the instructions say some bullshit like
>heat for 3 1/2 minutes, take out and stirr, heat for an additional 2 1/2 minutes
no, fuck you
that shit is going in for 6 uninterrupted minutes

it's getting the same amount of heat energy by the end anyway, it makes no difference at what point you stir it

literally all I do when reheating shit is put shit in for the entire length the box says with no breaks
plus an additional 33 seconds

That's how the lady at the local sandwich place operates. I pointed it out to her how smart that was and she said sometimes people will tell her "46 minutes! That's crazy!". She always runs it for just 15 secs so she looks at the time before she sticks it in then she subtracts 15 seconds.
