This image evokes a morbid sense of dread inside me. I think it's that the flashy regurgitated corporate establishment that's trying to market itself as trendy and relatable next to cars likely backed up in traffic a quarter mile on some long stretch of road in a no name midwestern town. The light will turn green and then red again before its your turn to go. You'll be forced to stop again and stare at the countless oversized signs that egregiously take up your up a good portion of your vision advertising chain stores and eateries that surround the you like a rapid wolves in the wild. You look ahead of you, eyes tired from the brining neon lights, and see that they dot the landscape until the sun meets the horizon. There is no escape but you're hungry, the light turns free. Better pull into the next stop for a burger.

McDonald's has double the money of Starbucks, and the #1 thing which decides what girls think is icky is marketing. I predict that they will dump money into the cosmics tiktok account and girls will be completely bought in.

The incompetence on display is insane. They could have made a cool, modern, coffee shop that doesn't look or sound like a McDonalds, but the geniuses in marketing decided to constantly remind you that no, this is a McDonalds.

This. Females are conformist fad followers. Whomever successfully controls the fad controls women and the in thing of the time. But you have to keep changing up the fad, because women have very short attention spans and get bored super easily.

This seems like a really expensive marketing scheme. Surely they could have just tried making new items without needing to create CosMcs locations? Do they need new kitchen items to make the items to make this necessary? This seems like it's going to flop just on the cost to do this. I don't get it? Was it some execs kids high idea? Some kind of tax loophole maybe?

> This seems like a really expensive marketing scheme

It is, it’s called market stretching.
McDonald’s has a certain image and lacks the “cool factor” that a Starbucks drive through has. Cosmcs is a direct competition to those places and I’m certain that the marketing department has all sorts of trendsetters lined up to shill their new cafe and pick Starbucks pockets by offering the same stuff at a third of the price.
A cup of burnt coffee milkshake at Starbucks runs ten bucks these days while the same McCafé thing is three bucks. Without the trendy factor, people didn’t consider McDonald’s and went to a Dunkin’ or Wawa instead if they didn’t want to drop ten bucks on a coffee unless they were already a McDonald’s customer. This opens a whole new batch of customers who care about posting the selfies of themselves with their morning go juice in a cup from the hip place that TikTok thot#4837 posted the day before….

I've never been to Canada, but before Tim Hortons was sold to Burger King, I heard a lot of people rant and rave on the internet and tv about how good the coffee was. Then after it was sold they turned it all to shit by using the cheapest suppliers, not baking stuff in store. And McDonalds quickly took the opportunity to get their former coffee supplier. I remember the change locally too. Suddenly people were telling me how they've started getting McDonalds coffee. I know I sound like some McDonald's shill at this point, but it surprised me cause before then Ive always heard McDonalds coffee was shit.

If they just made a big ad about something like,
"Look, we have flavored sugar pump bottles. A whole wall of them, 250 flavors, free of charge" that would get the starbucks crowd in
they could get a diverse cast in the advertisement and have them try diverse flavors
