Whites need to reduce their meat consumption to at least Asian country levels in order for us to save this planet. It’s not too hard. Just halve your daily intake, ya fucking gluttons.

Lab-grown meat holds promise as a sustainable alternative, allowing people to enjoy meat without the environmental drawbacks of traditional livestock farming. It could potentially offer a solution that reconciles both dietary preferences and ecological concerns. Moreover, advancements in technology and innovation are continuously working towards enhancing our overall quality of life, providing hope for a future where we can thrive without compromising the health of the planet.

I don't even eat meat, but it's for moral reasons, and I do feel like my health suffers negatively a bit sometimes from not eating it. Meat provides high quality fat and protein and nutrients that are more bioavailable than what you'll get from most plants. There's a reason people eat it, and studies showing people at top fitness levels needing meat to get to that status.

Even at the top end of that chart, it's only a bit more than half a pound per day. That's pretty close to recommendations from a lot of groups, and they usually recommend what's "just enough" instead of what's optimal for best health.

>Lab-grown meat holds promise as a sustainable alternative, allowing people to enjoy meat without the environmental drawbacks of traditional livestock farming.
It's impossible to do that because of small batch sizes and the insane chance of contamination. Also livestock is a critical part of the food production industry consuming parts of plants humans can't eat and subsidizing crop growers by buying waste as feed. Also grazing animals use land that's unsuited for productive farming.

One dubious claim after another. I'm glad you made this post though. It's a great example of anthropocentric reasoning and how people can disguise stubbornness as optimism. We invent and "innovate" our way into a dead end and, bafflingly, demonstrating no self awareness at all, we scheme up another round of inventions and innovations to unmake the consequences of the first. We're forever kicking the can down the road and ignoring the clearly worded signs that all say "Danger ahead. Turn back!"

Meat is nutritious. People who avoid eating meat usually have more deficiencies, lower levels of fitness and muscle mass, etc.

>> No.19986313

>>19986208
Moot point when most of the meat we're eating comes slathered in sugary sauces, fried in artery clogging oils, preserved in gratuitous sodium and god knows what else. That's the problem with overconsumption. We can't maintain quality while shitting out high volume like we do. I'm honestly a little apalled when people try to defend this on the basis of nutrition. Like are you joking? The average consumer is just seeking out the highest quantity for their dollar which almost almost includes some poisonous filler.

Eating less meat will still increase your risk for those things. There's going to be a certain amount required for optimal health, and our bodies are pretty good at telling us how much that is as long as it's not heavily processed food.

>> No.19987919

The optimal amount of meat required for health is considerably lower than what most people are cramming nowadays. That's sort of the entire point of the thread.

>> No.19988003

The top countries on that list are pretty close to the recommendations of a lot of official health groups. It's not an insane amount of meat. Just slightly above what is probably a conservative recommendation.

Sugar and highly processed foods are definitely being consumed in amounts way above what the recommended limits are though.
