I'm Danish. When I was a kid and in daycare we noticed that the lady looking after us has a pan for æbleskiver hanging on the wall so of course we demanded that she make us some æbleskiver.
She took an apple and sliced it and put it on a plate.

Many years later she was my patient. Died of liver cancer. Fully deserved.
