A little sad today, bros. Remembering my favorite Chinese food takeout from my 3 day trip to Macau last spring.

You can get the same thing here, assuming you're in burgerland

there nothing unique about that

there was a really good chinese-american restraunt in my town ran by an old chinese immigrant. on the 5 days a week he cooked, it was heavenly. unfortunately, he retired and none of his family wanted to carry on the business. Now its a mexican restraunt.

he taught me that you should pair sweet and sour pork with oolong tea. it's ridiculously good together.

Sorry you are sad, friend. Remember, even small progress every day adds up over time. Good luck

Does he still live in the area? Maybe it isn’t actually possible but in my head I always wanted to befriend a retired chef and when we hang out they teach me their recipes while we drink nice liquor (that I brought over for them).

theyre amazing for like 10 mouthfuls and then you realize its too much and reheating it the next day makes it really chewy
my advice is get really drunk and eat it till you feel sick

he died during the covid lockdowns. he refused to teach any outsider his recipes either way. the last day of his shop being open, the whole town showed up and lots of people offerd to buy his recipes. he would just 'lol nope' them, one after another.
