I think it's an unconcious cultural realisation that at some point in the last 40 years we fucked up hard, and rather than trying to fix it it's easier to just say 'fuck it, start over' and wind the clock backwards.

I'm not gonna complain, I love 70's graphic design. Beats the fuck out of modern minimalist bullshit and bauhaus crap. Give me striking but earthy colours, give me patterns, give me big serif fonts! Give the world some semblance of soul and personality and individuality rather than all this fucking minimalist garbage we've had for most of the last decade.

agreed, even though I would've been too young to remember it so I don't even think it's for nostalgic reasons. It's just objectively the best one, the font flows better with the curved logo instead of the contrasting block letters, along with the usage of lighter blue on the right field.
