Mayo, relish, mustard, & celery if you want a tuna salad for sammiches or crackers.

Cook it into some saffron rice with some frozen broccoli for some great slop. Salt to taste.

Add it to something like cup of noodles, korr pasta/rice dishes for something super quick & easy.

You could also make a tuna casserole with canned tuna, egg noodles, peas, cream'o'shroom, and a French onion top layer.

OP I'm gonna tell you the secret Big Tuna doesn't want you to know: Plain canned tuna for humans costs $0.20 per ounce. However, you can buy Friskies canned tuna for $0.14 per ounce to save money, and it comes pre-sauced. However, if you're willing to splurge, Fancy Feast tuna in cream sauce comes out to $0.30 per ounce.

I make Chef John's tuna melt, mayo makes everything better.

I use frozen steaks of yellow tuna though. Bit sacrilegious, but per weight it's pretty much the same price as good oil packed tuna. I don't see the point in keeping cans around for inferior cuts of fish.

canned fish always dry as cardboard. So i've always paired it or rather overwhelm its dry with something wet. My current thing is shirataki noodles which is 99 percent water. Plus toss in raw onions. So the ratio is 1 part fish to 2 parts wet stuff (shirataki + raw onions).

Tuna salad is pretty versatile: you can serve it as an actual salad on lettuce or other greens, stuff a tomato with it, put a scoop on a canned peach half, mix it with cold macaroni, make a sandwich, etc. It's also something that's easy to vary the composition of. I find that I often change it up based on what I have on hand or just a whim:

-I always use tuna packed in olive oil, preferably solid rather than chunk, but am not especially picky between white and light.
-I may or may not add celery (usually do, but sometimes don't if it's for a sandwich)
-I often add a minced shallot, or some (preferably red) onion if I don't have a shallot
-I sometimes add a clove of garlic
-I may or may not add a little fresh olive oil depending on how dry the tuna is
-Usually some lemon or lime juice
-Sometimes a very little balsamic vinegar
-Fresh tarragon if I have it, sometimes dried dill if I don't.
-Usually some capers, or minced cornichons, or chopped green olives, depending on what I have or feel like
-Bind with mayo (aoli would probably be good, too)
-I've never added hard-boiled egg, but I've had commercial egg salad with it and could see myself doing it some time.
