Frog's legs to be exact. It was actually really good. Not just pretty good, it was genuinely delicious. It has a very similar texture and taste to chicken wings.
So why isn't this a more common dish? Why are frogs legs considered a delicacy only the French eat? There's nothing unpleasant about them at all, they actually look quite attractive sitting there on the plate in that weird horseshoe shape.

They're mostly wild caught, you can't really farm them that well.

Is that so? It did say wild caught on the menu, but I just assumed frogs would be easy to farm since they produce so many eggs at once and need relatively little space.

I caught a frog once. I attempted to keep him in a jar. Turns out frogs poop a lot and young me wisely decided to return him to his habitat. The swamp would probably be clean if it weren't filled with frog poop.

That's cope, though. There is nothing stopping people from starting frog farms to mass breed frogs should they really want to do that. The only thing stopping people is cultural values.

name five establishments in your home country that serve frogs that aren't French restaurants, and if you're French then this question doesn't apply/

Not even OP but frogs are an exotic dish, anon. It's like if you ate gator or shark for the first time. You have no idea what it's going to taste like. Maybe you're just reading too much into things?

They're peasant food and a bit shit. Ditto snails. If you ate a "delicious" frog, it's because of how it was prepared. Compare a chicken, which barely requires seasoning.

>Compare a chicken, which barely requires seasoning
Unseasoned chicken is disgusting and bland. Same with turkey. Duck has actual flavor, though if you're not seasoning your foods at all that's a sign you're Br*tish and shouldn't be discussing food at all.

I'm not American. You guys know they have bones and skin before they're delivered to your supermarket, right? A minimally seasoned roast chicken is disgusting to you?

frogs stink to raise and you'd need a lot of area to raise very little. You can order frogs online and try it yourself if you want but it's not really economical to mass produce. This is where lab grown meat could help, stuff like that could be made easier

I saw frog legs on menu along with wild fish etc.

Compared to some lemon pepper or paprika or soy sauce or just anything? You probably don't even make gravy.

Yes? How is it not? You're telling me you prepare food with zero seasoning at all? Not even gravy? If I want low effort, tasteless garbage I might as well just order from the most run down chain restaurant I can find.
