Microwaved meals kept me fed when I was on a budget and didn't have the time or energy to make my own meals all the time. Hungry Man is pretty high tier just because they typically give very generous serving sizes for the price. Their Mexican meals are pretty damn good. The top tier microwaved food is probably lasagna, specifically Stouffer's lasagna. That stuff fills you up like no other microwaved meal can. The times I saw that on sale I'd just buy as many as my fridge could hold. And of course you have microwaved pizzas, and those are typically really good as well. Picked up one of these salmon boys from the heb because it was on sale for $6 from 8.50.
Pesto sauce wasn't bad, and with a salad on the side I was whelmed, took even less time in the oven than a hot pocket to boot.

I’m dating a Michelin star sous chef, and after a long shift at work, sometimes she’ll come home and literally just heat this shit up with a little bit of Dijon mustard and some sautéed onions. Idk how she does it, but somehow it comes out tasting like something you’d spend $20 on at a restaurant.

One of my good friends is an award winning chef herself and she does all sorts of things with prepackaged foods at home. The way she makes instant mac is kind of risotto-like, for example. As the pasta is boiling, she kneads the butter with the cheese powder, peas or chopped spinach and some additional shredded cheese then drains the pasta and simply whips it with the butter mixture, no added milk.
We have a saying in my country about the shoemaker's kids going barefoot and her diet at home really reminds me of it.

The food in the south and the food in the southwest (two culturally distinct areas, “the south” doesn’t really encompass states like Texas and New Mexico) is delicious, the food in the midwest is inedible.
I’d put the cuisines of Texas and Louisiana up against any nation of Europe except France.

Anyways I make a fuckload of pasta bakes for work, and I'll put them atop the pasta and broil the bastard for a bit to crisp them up if I don't feel like making a proper protein. It's fine.
