Thank you I used Chef John's buttercrust for the pie, it's my go-to for both sweet and savory pie shells

I’ve never made savory pie dishes before. I’ve never even had one other than a chicken pot pie.
What are some cool ones to try and make?

There was a minor savory pie fad in my city around a decade ago, a bunch of pie shops opened and most have since closed. Probably my favorite was thai chicken curry.

Bacon and egg is the simplest.
>Grease pie dish
>Roll out short crust pastry
>Blind bake
>Fry bacon
>Add to pie shell
>Beat a few eggs and pour over
>Crack a few whole eggs on top
>Add the rest of the bacon
>Top with puff pastry
>Beat an egg yolk with some salt
>Brush over the lid
>Poke some steam vents (speed holes) in the lid with a knife
>Bake
You can add cheese, you can use ham, you can beat all the eggs, you can add a little cream or milk to the eggs, you could just not beat any eggs at all, you can add onion, you can add tomato, eat it with 'chup or Worcestershire.
