You only wipe in oil for steel and copper wok. If its steel and coated teflon or other shit you are fine with drizzle or spray. Also its high heat for a minute then cuting and wiping oil on.

For proper technique yes. Stove top ones are fine to buy if you want a deep pan and something easier to flip things in. Asians that live in modern apartments but them still. Heat dispensing is also fucked on them too but if you use it like a deep pan its fin. Inside being flat though and you have royally fucked up.

Gas flame can spread heat along the side, heat from electric tops not so much.

You can get electric woks and induction cookers for woks though. Even the induction ones can be relatively affordable.
