Think of it like collard greens. They would probably look like shit if you didn't know what they taste like, but because you do, you see a dish of them and start salivating. Lau lau isn't really similar to collards, aside from been some pork with leafy greens, but you can think of it in the same way. It's like people who make threads about Indian or Ethiopian food, saying it all looks like diarrhea. Because I've actually eaten those foods I look at the images and think it looks great, because I've already made the association between what the dish looks like and how it tastes.

Anon, even if you know nothing about the human reproductive system, that orange hook isn't even facing in the right direction for your theory to make sense. Hawaiian kine sticky rice with shoyu and mac salad is so fucking good. I don't even care how unhealthy it is. You should be going to the beach regularly if you're eating it anyway, which is why Hawaii is one of the least obese states in the country, in spite of the cuisine.
