Once your liver can't metabolize alcohol it just shoots up into your brain, and that's why some people with liver disease that have been lifelong drinkers get drunk so fast. It's not too late; if you stop drinking NOW (but be careful if you suffer from alcohol withdrawals, and if you do then go to a hospital to "detox" properly), but if you stop now, even if they tell you your liver is fucked, it can really bounce back. I've known cirrhosis patients that make a full and complete comeback, but they strop drinking and smoking and never look back.

Improving your diet with cruciferous vegetables and lean meats is basically medicine as well. Saturated fats are something you're going to want to stay away from.
