What's your go-to dish at an Indian restaurant?
For me it's Saag Paneer.

>> No.19707248

lamb biryani and peshwari naan
the peep show bit had me order peshwari naan as a curious joke but its legitimately fantastic with the cherries and coconut

good option, I also go for vindaloo

Chicken korma with pilau rice. Maybe a generic naan.

Lamb jalfrezi. I usually try a new place's saag paneer but it's rarely as good as I hope.

Have you ever had fig korma? Still tends to have chicken in it and is literally just a better version.

Yeah... the Indian restaurant in my town is fantastic, but it's Saag Paneer is trash. I got this picture from Google but it looks like this, no creaminess and that pure velvet bliss that it usually gives.
Good Saag Paneer is like nothing else in the world though.

I always say good morning to every Indian person I see when I'm out walking my dog and they always seem really happy about it. It's their country now, might as well go native. I'm already growing a mustache.

How do make dosas at home? The Indian girls on youtube make it look so easy but I can't seem to make anything even halfway correct.

>> No.19707470

Baingan Bharta, or Aloo Gobi, or palak paneer.
>>19707312
I've been going to a South Indian place recently and just trying the different dosas, which typically come with like 6-8 sides, and I have absolutely no clue what any of it is because they make different things every day.

Palak paneer, Lamb biriyani, and a couple parathas.
I like most all of it as long as it is prepared according to western standards of cleanliness.
The only good Indian place around here got killed by the lockdowns, so none for me.
They used to have a buffet every day for lunch and dinner.
I only got to eat there 3 times, and I doubt that there will be another of anywhere near the same quality. You could actually see into the kitchen from the dining room,(there was a swinging door,) and the kitchen looked clean every time I went.
These days, I don't trust ANY restaurant anymore--

I usually get a few things so I get a few meals worth of leftovers.

Samosa chaat, butter chicken (or lamb roganjosh), palak paneer (or baignan bartha), and vijayawada biryani.

If it’s a Hakka place I get chili chicken and Hakka noodles with egg.

We have only one indian restaurant in town left because the rest hygiene closed down.
No joke. But they get along with stick of serving lots of small different portions of different food on metal plate and everything is vegetarian.
So your choices are yes or no when it comes to food.
If there is an indian here give me recipe to those cabbage deep fried something or I will sick british on you.

SHAHI PANEER! I haven't been to a good Indian place since I moved from east coast to west coast. The shit here is like 2x as expensive and simply not as flavorful. The place where I used to live had a Sunday buffet that was so satisfying, sitting here hungry thinking about it.
