Count calories, weigh out your food, don't eyeball it. As long as you know exactly how many calories are going into your body you are able to lose weight if you keep below your maintenance level.

Do this but also dont do anything retarded like avoid vegetables or fast for over 24 hours. If you do youll real quickly learn the basics of what you should be eating.

Yeah avoid gimmick diets. If you're a big ol' fasto you need a lifestyle change and gimmick diets don't work with that, a balanced diet is key.

>> No.19664318

One other thing is that I would not recommend replacing sugar with any artificial sweetener. Do it all 'honestly' imo because then youll be much more likely to be forcing yourself into foods that are good for you in ways beyond weight control. But i have never been what someone on the street would call fat so maybe my advice wont work for you.

>> No.19664341

>>19664220
Brown rice, beans, potatoes, chicken, fish, greens, and spices. A lot of 'advice' out there is really just marketing to sell more supplements/snack food. Don't overdo greens or meat, and eat mostly healthy carbs like listed above because they'll satiate. Eating healthy isn't expensive.
Also avoid meme foods related to fad diets. Keto cereal, and organic vegan almond butter bars are just overpriced slop.

Basically just avoid highly processed food. Eat fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy, eggs, beans, whole grains. All spices and herbs are fine. Vinegar, mustard, and soy sauce are fairly healthy condiments. Try making your own sauces from scratch instead of sugary premade stuff.

This. Soda, juice, and alcohol are not filling yet have a shitton of calories.

Also, try to keep in mind you do not have unlimited willpower. Every meal should be filling to make things easier on yourself.

Example:
-Eating a mcdouble and medium fries for 800cal will probably keep you full until the next meal.

-Eating 6oz boneless skinless chicken breast and a heaping pile of veggies will absolutely keep you full until the next meal for half the calories.

Choose foods that are higher in nutrition, fiber, and water. Calories may all count the same, but its so much easier to eat a reasonable amount when you eat actual food.

I'd like to say a few things
What's the goal
Another thing what sort of health do you find yourself in
Should you be looking to live a nice long healthy life, look into blue zones where people live to be 100 years old and are healthy productive people no need for glasses, hearing aids or even canes
These blue zones people has certain criteria the more or less all fall under funny thing about most of these guys is that they are mostly sheepherders running up and down hills and nearly never spend time sitting down after 20 minutes they are back up and doing stuff
Another bunch of the blue zones people are 7th day advantist and these guys have a huge healthy lifespan and are the only ones living in cities as in modern cities

You can find out about many of the latest breakthroughs and why some things work and why they don't in specific media my go to lately is the Huberman podcast, invest time in understanding the many aspects of what would currently be considered optimal and or best practices
My favorite topics. Have been water, sleeping, fasting, microbiome
Once you grasp the function and apply with discipline expect results
I take steps in things for periods of time, treating them as stepping stones then becoming more regular habits

To be sure food is a hurdle the bigger the habit of junk food and highly processed the bigger the pain to move away from that to healthier stuff, that could explain why I take steps and get accustomed to things more deliberately
Crappy food intake with be just like a smoker dying for another smoke

Fit fags will say count and exercise and the fact is that exercising is huge just like sleeping and not smoking

>I'm trying to start eating healthy
It's not hard to "eat healthy," just stop eating hedonistically. Like literally only eat to survive. What I've been doing for a few years now is just buying frozen vegetables and chicken or fish and just putting them in a steamer until cooked and then just eat that with no dressing or added salt.

Also, aim to eat only within an 8 hour window every day, but if you can do 4 hours or just flat out eat just once a day you're going to see some very nice results. Count your calories if you're trying to build muscle and make sure your surplus is mainly protein but stay away from saturated fats (all kinds) no matter what the ketofags tell you.

Just my take but start slowly. Cut a couple of shitty things out of your diet completely at first (for example soda and deserts) and whittle your way down to eating fairly clean, with the occasional indulgence. Avoid fad diets or any diet that requires a radical change right away. It might for a few months or even a couple of years but you will rebound hard. Do something sustainable and also throw in exercise as well. As you start to look better it will motivate you to keep going.

Making a sautéed/lightly pan fried piece of chicken thigh and vegetables is stupid easy, takes only like 15 minutes including prep, is pretty healthy (the entire thing can be under 300 calories), and tastes great.

>Get chicken thighs, can be skin on, bone in, or skinless/bonless, I use harris teeter thigh fillets, which are boneless/skinless and are like 130-150g per piece
>Get vegetables: Broccoli, asparagus, zuchinni/yellow squash, bell pepper, etc all works fine but aspargus is fastest so i'll use that as an example
>take pan, put a little olive oil or whatever else, can be as little as 1 teaspoon or even half since thighs have fat already, put in pan, preheat on medium or medium-high
>season chicken thigh with spices, you can't go wrong with black pepper (not precrushed), salt, paprika or some other dried/crushed chili/red pepper product, and garlic and/or onion powder/flakes. most pre-mixed spice blends will use that as a base
>When oil is heated, put chicken in
>while chicken is cooking or while oil is heating, cut bottoms off asparagus, or cut broccoli, zucchini, whatever, etc
>flip chicken after a few minutes, then again a few minutes after that, etc, should take like 7-10 mins total, give or take a few depending on size of thigh, your stove, etc. If it's a full thigh it'll probably take more. The outside of the chicken looking a little dark is fine
>when it reaches at least 165 internally, or ideally like 175 or 180 (thighs can handle higher heat then breasts), take it off the stove
>put aspargus in alongside a little bit of water, will steam up/splatter, cover pan with lid
>let that steam for like 1-2 minutes, remove lid, add in half a tablespoon of butter or a bit more oil, turn heat up a bit, sprinkle spices, salt, etc on aspargus, toss around in pan, then let it grill in the pan for another 1-2 minutes or till however crisp or soft you want it
>remove aspargus, you're done

>> No.19669396

>>19669392
With Broccoli or Zucchini, they require a bit different cooking/prep process, but it's basically just that you need to steam broccoli for longer and maybe fry/grill it after longer too, and for Zucchini, don't do that step at all, instead grill it in pan the whole time it's there, and don't toss/agitate it (but make sure you distribute the butter/oil across the pan first), let one side get really crispy and browned before you flip.

You can also do fresh green beans and cook it pretty much the same way/time as the aspargus

Optional steps:

>Cut up some actual garlic to throw in with the chicken in the last few minutes it's cooking, and then also with the aspargus as it grills

>Get some lemon juice or zest to put on chicken as it rests on plate, and onto the aspargus in the last 30 seconds or so in the pan (the little pre-juiced lemon juice containers arent ideal but still work fine)

>Take a cup or a jar or something and wrap the bottom in foil and forcefully press (seriously, you want it to actually dig into, crush, and flatten the meat) that into the thicker part of the chicken if the bone is removed for the first few seconds it's in the pan to help flatten it and cook more evenly, then throw the foil away

I'd personally really still recommend doing the fresh garlic and lemon juice even if it's "optional", and even the cup thing is pretty low effort.
