can I use this to make an electrolyte beverage or is it a different kind of potassium I want?

most of the ones on the market are just sugar water

why not use regular salt

Sodium is bad or something

Potassium chloride is fine for creating an electrolyte drink. It's not necessary but a small amount of sugar can help with rehydration and getting electrolytes though - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3605518/.. A small amount is something like 2-3g sugar and not what you get in sports drunks.

Potassium Chloride tastes like shit, I prefer Potassium Bitartrate (cream of tartar) in the following:
12 - 16oz water
1/2 tsp pink salt
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

then, all you need is magnesium in the form of pills or add Mag sulfate (epsom salt) but you need a lot less Mg then you do Na & K
Supposedly the bitartrate is just as bioavailable as the chloride but it doesnt taste like licking a circuit board

I've done that for a while now, 1/4 fake salt 3/4 epsom salt. I mixed them in an old pill bottle and add a pinch to the gallon of water i keep my my desk.

That's part of it too, sodium is obvious but putting sodium with potassium will create an imbalance which can be worse than if you had no sodium at all

Potassium citrate, its a sour metallic taste bit much less strong than KCl, and the sour part will likely mesh much better with whatever else you're mixing in

I always used the potassium salt substitute like nuSalt and it worked fine. I used Kool-aid for the flavoring. Don't listen to anyone saying skip the sugar. You need the sugar. Way cheaper than Gatorade.

Potassium bicarbonate actually tastes great. Works great as a spice. It's like nothing else

Personally I find the most important electrolyte for me is calcium. I get muscle spasms and cramps when it runs low. Not sure what the best way to add that is, I just drink milk now.

I use this recipe except i do half water half pineapple juice, no syrup or vinegar

Sounds good except for the vinegar. What function does it serve? Can it be substituted with something like lemon juice instead?

You can just take capsules for calcium. I do when I'm not getting enough from my diet. I also supplement magnesium via capsule and potassium via beverages made with potassium citrate.

you lose a lot more sodium than potassium when sweating. drinking more potassium will only make that imbalance worse.

>>19648295
nigga just sprinkle a bit of salt in every glass of water you drink. you can't taste it but it's giving you what you need

>take the chemical literally used to stop people's hearts in lethal injections
>pour it all over your food because big pharma want you to blame all your health problems on salt instead of the precious American sugar/HFCS industry
