I can't even imagine taking 45 minutes to answer this question. I'm not going to watch the video, the answer is objectively "yes fresh garlic is better than jarred/pre peeled garlic."

ok thanks for making a thread about it to tell us

Oh, hey. I watched this video and actually learned something.

Turns out the jarred stuff is terrible and has no taste as OP surmises. But the powder WORKS. You just need to re-hydrate it, and it tastes like garlic concentrated. Same with FD and other dried variants.

So fresh is better for where garlic is the main star, but you can use the dried forms elsewhere to great effect.

enzymes. you want the enzymes to work, anon. garlic is healthy because enzyme shit. eating garlic because it tastes good is ok, but missing out on the health effect is just stupid.

how would a garlic infused oil have no garlic taste?

>> No.19646550

I watched it, he’s really not bad. raguesa and that other glasses guy get on my nerves, but this guy doesn’t make me want to kill him. everyone knows that fresh garlic is best, but his tests were interesting for the use of powder and paste, and I’ll probably be making some dhania soon. I do wish he tested a recipe like a spice rub where powder seems to be the best option, or see if just adding a lot more jarred garlic can make up the difference.

agreed, I like Ragusea and some other cooking youtubers, but this guy is another level. His taste tests and extremely methodical approach satisfy some inner autistic desire that I have. I just wish he wouldn't use to much plastic in his food prep. Someone needs to redpill him on microplastics and seed oils, otherwise he's pretty great

that's not what he said. He said the dried/dessicated forms of minced garlic work, but the powder he wasn't really able to taste. He also said that powder tends to go bad faster due to the larger surface area exposed to air

It shouldn't take 45 minutes for that. YouTubers have intentionally padded their videos for a very long time because longer videos get more ad revenue.

>> No.19647239

>>19647238
The pad is 10 minutes mark not 45 minutes you retard.

>> No.19647260

Videos have ad breaks throughout, not just at the beginning. Longer video = more ad breaks. Retard!11
