So I just drank coffee for the first time in my life. I ordered a cappuccino and a piece of chocolate cake and man did it taste terrible.
I couldn't take more than a small sip at a time because the thing just tastes like dirt. I had to eat the cake immediately after I drank the coffee to get the awful taste out of my mouth. After finishing the coffee, I just chugged the entire sparkling water glass to try to get the taste out of my mouth, and the first thing I did when I got home was brushing my teeth.
I'll never drink this garbage ever again. Time to go back to tea.

it's really easy to make at least decent or good tea. that's not true for coffee.
it's much more complicated due to grind size, the millions of different beans, their freshness (crucial), extremely expensive espresso machines and so on. most people are incapable of making good coffee and when it comes to restaurants most of them try to penny pinch so it's very unlikely that you'll ever get good coffee beans there unless the price is really high. good coffee beans are fucking expensive

if youve never tried coffee before why would you order it mixed with hot cocoa?

You have to start with lattes or cappuccinos, if you just go for the espresso it’s going to be too strong for a neophyte

>tastes like dirt
This is a weird description. It makes sense for things like kava root that actually do taste like dirt, but coffee is bitter, aromatic, toasty and caramelised from the roasting, and in some cases sour/fruity/nutty/astringent/etc. depending on the beans and the extraction; in a cappuccino it's mixed with milk that's sweet and slightly sour.

A cappuccino tastes like a bitter and less sweet caramel milkshake served hot, which isn't to everyone's taste, but it's nothing like dirt.
