I bought all six of the new El Yucateco sauces last week. The pineapple habanero is great, it's what you'd expect, and works especially well on pizza. The chiltepin is hot with a nice smokey flavor. The red marisquera isn't very hot but it's perfect on some shrimp. Haven't tried the rest yet. I expect the coffee one to suck and not work with anything but we'll see.

The pizza one is okay. It's supposed to taste like a sauce equivalent of the crushed red pepper that you sprinkle on pizza, and it's not exactly that, but it's not bad. I can't say it's tasty enough that I'd go out of my way to get it again.

The garlic parmesan wing sauce thing is spicy and tangy as fuck, to the point where it's less versatile than I'd like. It's so powerful in fact that it seems too strong for wings in my opinion. I'm not sure what to pair it with now to be honest.

I do a few fermented sauces that take at least 2 months to make with a variety of peppers. jalapeño fresno serrano habanero reaper bell for sweetness. a couple fresh sauces, one green one red. lots of fresh herbs. and several fruit sauces. a black cherry ghost, pineapple habanero, mango habanero, and orange habanero. all but one are works in progress. slightly different every time. trying to get them perfect before I maybe attempt to bottle and sell them. right now they're just for friends and family.

>Se-cret Aard-vark? You know, the world's premier sauce?
>"Pardon me, sir, but I don't think we have that."
>Ah, so you ran out. That does tend to be a problem. You should inform your sauce-melier immediately. But fortunately... (wink & smile, reach inside jacket)... I always carry my own.

It's important to have this conversation loud enough for all patrons to hear.

Leave the bottle on the table with the logo facing outward. Before each bite, make a big show of opening the bottle, extracting a single drop of "red gold", and closing the bottle with a loud snap. Also frequently exclaim (to no one in particular) "Mmmm mmmm! That's my 'Vark!"

If anyone looks over, be sure to smile, wink, and hold up the bottle, in case they want to take a picture for social media. Of course you'll also want to get your own photo showing the bottle next to your meal and yourself leaning in, mouth agape at the zesty spice. (Don't forget to tag #varklife! >Grab The Toilet and Scream Hellfire Habanero, second tasting
>Few actually know the proper name of this sauce as the label is rather understated; it is completely black save a crude graffiti-style middle finger stenciled on the front and required FDA information on the back. Mother won’t allow me to display this on the kitchen spice rack with the other highlights of my collection for obvious reasons.
>Ron, my mother’s suitor of the month (I am forgoing his usual moniker of “he who shall not be named” for brevity) has brought pizzas for us to partake. I offer Ron a pint of Hazy Longsipping’s Imperial Tangerine NEIPA but he rudely rebuffs it in favor of his macro piss lager.
>After some idle smalltalk about my less-than-fruitful recent attempts at job applications and the opposite sex we arrive at the main course. Ron reaches for a bottle of tabasco *sigh* (mother keeps one on hand for cooking). I say I prefer something with a little more masculinity and proudly furnish the bottle of Hellfire Habanero.
>Mother sneers and rolls her eyes. “He’s gonna kickstart his IBS again with that crap.” I pour a small dollop of the brownish orange liquid on my slice and savor the aroma, very industrial with a floral hint. I take my first bite. Being my second tasting I was more prepared for the fiery front it put on and push through the second and third bites. The burning did not subside. Ron offers a paper towel to wipe the tears from my face. I ignore him and finish the slice. My stomach begins to rumble and churn almost instantly.
>I do not feel a rating would be fair as dinner was cut short by medical issues, but I will say the sauce lives up to its namesake. I have been on the toilet for nearly two and a half hours. Mother and Ron have departed for a movie, leaving me to a solitary evening of agonizing bowel movements and anime.

>Uncle Ulcer’s Maximum Alert Ghost Pepper Gastrointestinal Genocide, first tasting
>I found the bottle art to be quite clever and humorous, although I could see how one might be shocked by an anthropomorphic chili pepper in a Wehrmacht uniform shoving the nozzle of a flamethrower up a man’s rectum and blasting it with fire - perhaps they could change it to a generic uniform so as not to offend our Semitic friends.
>A local eatery is featuring the sauce on their chicken wing offerings. I took a seat at the bar and ordered a dozen, and a Gutpunch Hopfuck IPA from Motherhumper Brewing (I typically would not get something quite so hoppy to accompany the main course but I was feeling bold this eve). A family with ugh… THREE children was seated in the dining area behind me. I attempted to register my disdain by glaring menacingly over my shoulder at the parents but their attention was focused on their spawn. I politely requested the barmaid reseat me at the end of the bar.
>The plate arrives. A neon orange-reddish sauce glistens on the wings. The scent is rather pungent, it stings the nostrils. I raise my glass and nod to a young lass a few seats away. She rolls her eyes and goes back to staring at her phone. I pick up a drumstick and take a small bite. The taste was… underwhelming. I had expected something more… flavorful from Uncle Ulcer’s, but all I can sense is pure capsaicin. Fire and needles spread throughout my mouth and down my throat, swear begins to bead on my brow. I whip out my pocket square with a flourish and dab my forehead. The woman a few seats down now has her back completely turned to me.
>A few minutes have passed and I have not taken another bite. I have emptied my pint and am halfway through a glass of milk, courtesy of the barmaid. She has politely but firmly rejected my request to exchange the wings for another dozen in a different sauce. I tip my hat and bid her good night.
>Final score: I rank the sauce a 6/10.

Made my own hot sauce yesterday, tastes great. Had some leftover chili peppers from my plant last year still in the freezer, Got the idea that I could try making a hot sauce, so I blended them with some garlic, basil and water to make a paste, put the paste into a pot and cooked it with vinegar, lemon juice, salt and maple syrup (first sweet ingredient I found so I just went with it) until it had the right viscosity. I dump the sauce into a sterilized jar, put it in the fridge and have been using it two times now. I gotta say this tastes better than any hot sauce I could get my hands on here via local stores, though the variety is just limited to tabasco and some other generic sauce here. And also it could just be me being biased because I made it myself, but needless to say I was surprised how easy it was to make something that also was pretty good hot sauce wise.

Can someone explain to me why it's seemingly impossible for companies to make a super-hot hotsauce that also has a decent fucking flavor to it?

Just tried Da Bomb, and while it was really fucking hot, it was also one of the worst sauces I've ever tasted. Why?

Are there any that actually taste good and not like acid with metal dissolved into it?
