I was an RN for over a dozen years before I quit during the coof and started working in a restaurant instead, so I've kind of had a LOT of clients who had to inform me if they had food allergies.
I have never encountered a single person who was allergic to peanuts. I'm not saying that allergy doesn't exist but I suspect it's not nearly as common as some people, Americans especially, like to pretend.

The FDA has something called the “big 9 allergens” where you MUST disclose that those ingredients are present or not when submitting any data to the FDA and any of those big 9 that are present must be overtly labeled on the package even if it’s something as retarded as a box of peanuts, they still must state it contains the allergen of peanuts.

I don't. I'm Euro living in Ameriland. I never encountered rampant tipping before I moved here and I hated it at first. Then, several restaurants in my area started going for the no-tipping schtick. It began with a single diner whose prices shot up by 50% rather than tipping's 20% so a meal that used to be $10 ($12.80 with tax and tip) was now $15 ($16.40 with tax). Still, people liked the change so, steadily, a few other places adopted this system.
Guess what happened? Service quality, at first, jumped up. It was great because servers thought that if they fucked up they'd get sacked so they tried harder to keep their decent income for extremely unskilled labour. Then they realised that it would be weird difficult for a larger restaurant, like that diner and others, to find replacements quickly if they all went to shit... so they went to shit.
Service quality dropped precipitously and the prices were still high. After about a year of this bullshit, ask the restaurants switched back to a tipping model, prices dropped, service went back to what it was before they got rid of tipping (never did get back to being as good as in the early days of no-tipping) and all was right in the world.
Tipping works in America because your horrifically entitled and unmotivated underclass otherwise won't do their jobs properly, mostly because many of your absolutely monstrous working and middle classes treat them so poorly.
So while a normal pay and pricing system works in Yurp, I don't believe it would ever work very well in the US because a segment of your population tend to treat people in the service industry badly so they've no motivation to do their jobs properly.
Conversely, tipping here causes the tryhard server to rear its head, the one who annoys you every three minutes to ask how your meal is or if you need anything.
Neither system is perfect, but I'd rather have lower prices and halfway decent service than not.

It's not that unreasonable to me. Think of it more like you are spraying an entire sheet pan of vegetables and you spray it for a couple seconds before roasting. If it's on employers than pay will go waaaay down. The "living wage" everyone talks about making employers pay rather than tips is $15/hr. I made $21/hr delivering pizzas (and that's accounting for gas), waiters make even more. In countries where those types of jobs don't earn tips they aren't making anywhere near the equivalent of that.
