Galangal. I've been experimenting in stir fries this week and found an excellent flavor combination. Galangal, fish sauce, pepper, and pickled veggies. If they have fresh galangal, awesome, otherwise frozen is fine. The flavor is not at all like ginger, it's its own thing entirely. Hard to describe, kind of vegetal, herbal, and medicinal.

The Asians. They're a small people, and they love when a white guy picks them up, carries them a couple feet, then puts them back down. They love it, I'm telling you, even the old men. Just have fun out there!

Soy sauces (take your pick)
rice vinegar (mirin)
Mayo
Curry boxes
Glass noodles, really any noodles you need
The frozen eel is fantastic, skipped the canned they are shit.
They have plenty of matcha if tea is your thing
Mushroom powder for stock is fantastic
Dried mushrooms are good too
I was disappointed with my local shop's bbq buns, but I've had some that are good in other areas, so take the risk and try them.

Szechuan chili oil is more convenient than the raw peppercorns. Sometimes called "prickly ash" oil.
It has a lemony aroma and the mouth numbing effect they're known for.
It's an easy way to add some variety to your favorite instant ramen, but you wouldn't want to use it the first time you try a certain flavor because it changes it so much.

I always get chicken feet for making a thick gelatinous chicken stock. Good for the stomach, skin, and joints. You'll want to use other parts of the chicken for flavor though.

I live in the inner city and go to the 7 nearby asian groceries once a week just to check the clearance shelves. Occasionally i'll get some spicy pickled veg but if i'm not careful they'll give me the sodium shits. Fuckloads of salt in those little bags.
They have the best prices on tofu, shallots, coconut water, noodles, and greens

larger store means you can have more shelves and stock more products, unless of course half your customers are hamplanets and require 2 metre wide aisles or else they get stuck.
Believe me, the owners of that store would very much like to stock more products. Asians are like jews but more honest

it's to accommodate shopping carts. you can see one in the image. it's dictated by suburban sprawl and fridges which makes stocking up a preferable option to the local market foot traffic which dictates authentic Chinese store design

seconded, grab some kaffir lime leaves and get going on some tom kha gai or other Thai dishes.

If they sell booze, get some umeshu (plum wine). It should have a few plums floating around in the bottle. It's a bit too sweet for me to enjoy neat, but amazing on the rocks with a splash of soda.
