Smashburgers are a meme if you enjoy the taste of beef, the juiciness of a proper patty is the best, especially if you actually seasoned the ground beef and distributed it beforehand yourself instead of just sprinkling it on the grill. smashburgers are too crunchy for me, the appeal of meat is the fat plus protein texture chew, smashburgers just render out too much fat and juice for me.

Outting yourself with a plebeian opinion is silly.
It's objective knowledge that adding seasoning to the ground and attempting to mix it for a homogeneous distribution is not only a waste of time but also unreliable. You apply seasoning to each patty after it is formed and gently pat it in. Anybody who waits until the grill to add seasoning is also being silly.
Next thing you know you'll be arguing that meatloaf should be called burgers or something equally as outrageous.

There are plenty of posts in favour of smashburgers. You need to lurk more because the posts that mock smashburgers are often so blatantly written by some of the autistic schizos that dwell this website. It is obvious straight away you can safely ignore whatever they write. A few have infested this thread already.

>they taste and look better than the burgers I've been making
In other words, you were already overcooking your burgers and probably underseasoning them. Obviously a thinner patty is better if you're going to overcook them anyway, since you're biting into a smaller amount of overcooked beef. And you probably added just as much seasoning despite using a smaller amount of meat, which is why they taste better.
>and look better
Just admit you fell for a meme. You're probably just larping anyway. I mean, you say you're eating 4 burgers a day and couldn't bother to take a single pic of one when you decided to make a thread about it? Bullshit. If your little story is true, the only conclusion to make is that you can't cook.

Here's something that /ck/ has actually been lying to you about: that homecooked food is always better than eating out at a restaurant. If someone - such as yourself - legitimately can't cook, you'd probably be better off just going to McDonalds. That's what most people who enjoy smashburgers want from a burger.
