Here's a postcard from the restaurant I found online.

I'm not one of those RETVRN guys, but I really wish postcards would make a comeback. Restaurant postcards like this used to be really common. Even most small motels used to have postcards showing the place. I buy and send postcards whenever I can while traveling, but I feel like I'm about the only person under 60 who does.

you can find estate sales near you on estatesales.net and craigslist

They're always a good time, even when I don't buy anything. Old menus can actually be fairly valuable. I didn't buy this one because the condition was bad and they're the kind of thing that can sit around for a few years before you can find a buyer. The closest thing related to /ck/ I regularly sell is mid-century modern barware, that stuff is always hot and is regularly way underpriced at estate sales.

I see you looked it up on street view as well. It appears that this address no longer exists, so it takes you to a random location near 22 N State St. So if it actually mapped to where such an address WOULD be, it is actually further north. But that area is also very corporate. It has a Chase branch, upscale hotels, and ironically, a Wow Bao.

"garlic could be here" he thought, "I've never been in this restaurant before. There could be garlic anywhere." The warm wind from the kitchen felt good against his bare chest. "I HATE GARLIC" he thought. 'mao zedong propaganda music Red Sun in the Sky' reverberated the entire restaurant, making it pulsate even as the $9 tsingtao circulated through his powerful thick veins and washed away his (merited) fear of root vegetables in his food "With a rick-shaw, you can go anywhere you want" he said to himself, out loud.

It felt good. Psychologically, personally, generally. I was younger but I knew that it had a positive influence on my own psyche and the identities of those around me. Even if things were difficult in your personal life, you were still part of the best thing on earth. Your dollar was worth a lot. Your car might have had some issues but it was the best for the money on earth. Literally everything FELT better, even if it wasn't intrinsically or tangibly better.

Maybe there's a financial gap where some people who had a lot more money could get the mercedes imported, or whatever it was and those luxurious differences made their american identity less important. But for the average american, literally every component of normal living was improved simply by virtue of american superiority. We felt better because we were the best. We'll never return to those days, our time in the sun has passed. It was beautiful.
