it's a coffee shop
bit pricey compared to other chains but mostly on par with local places
their actual coffee is pretty mid but they do nice mixed drinks
all their bakery stuff is pre-made and just heated in store, but it's just cooled and not frozen so ehh
pretty consistent across stores and their points system isn't the worst which is something
I normally get a café mocha, no whip - iced in Summer nd hot in Winter, and the only food item I normally get is the egg white / spinach wrap

I actually do enjoy their espresso drinks and blended stuff, but the last time I went for a frappuccino it was like 7-8 bucks, and I haven’t been back in a while because I feel stupid paying more for a cup of coffee than I do for a lot of my meals

I used to live near one of those places and the stench of coffee in the morning when by always made my stomach wretch, so imo you're not missing out on anything unless you enjoy standing in line which is what I always used to see in the morning, morning standing in line for their dose of coffee.

I always thought it was some play on that fighter pilot in that old campy show way back when Battlestar Galactica fighting the robots. In 58 years I have never heard it used except in that old TV show.

Their sizes make more sense when you can see all of them.
Originally, they had short and tall, and the 16 oz "grande" was like their extra large. Venti and trenta are just numbers of ounces.

Meh. I found that they didn't burn the filter coffee if you bought at peak times. A lot of coffee shops burn the coffee in quiet times.

They failed in Australia because there's a surprisingly strong coffee culture here.
Oddly though they persist in New Zealand. Come to think of it NZ has a fair bit of USA slop - Carl's Jr, Wendy's, Starbucks. NZ also has direct-to-consumer prescription medication advertising.

I really hope you're joking. I dated a girl for a few years who worked at Starbucks on and off, and they have a policy where all the food has to be thrown out the moment it hits the "best by" date, even if it's perfectly fine. So she would bring home stuff constantly and literally everything on their menu is terrible. Even she would feed most of them to the dog in the morning when she was feeling lazy.
>>19530075
I loved the remake, but it's aged much worse than the original. I wish Caprica wasn't cancelled. They should do a big budget HBO Caprica mini-series. That would be awesome.

It's stupidly overpriced.
A 16 fl. oz (Grande) Chai Tea Latte costs $5.00, before tax or tips.
That's 16 oz. of the actual beverage.
For reference, I have a teapot, which cost me $100 on Amazon, which holds 38 fl. oz of tea. I get 195mL of the milk-creamer solution in a separate creamer cup, which adds 6.6 oz. to my tea, so 44.6 fl. oz total.
I spend $0.60 on each pot's tea bags, $0.25 on milk, $0.2 on sugar, and $0.45 on creamer, so $1.50.
Getting the same amount from Starbucks would run me $15.
I'm pretty sure the stupid naming conventions are there to hide just how fucking gypped you are.

I worked at Starbucks for several years. Their regular drip coffee is worse than gas station coffee but their espresso drinks are mostly pretty good, frappuccinos are pretty tasty but are as bad as or worse than milkshakes in terms of lardass drinks, their iced tea is okay, some of the food is pretty good. I've never gone into one a single time since I quit because I'm not paying six dollars for a fucking coffee or $5-8 for a prepackaged sandwich, especially after years working there and getting so much of it for free. Their food waste is astronomical, I very rarely had to spend money on food when I worked there because our managers didn't give a shit and let us take home all the "expired" shit that was still perfectly good for like up to a week afterward. Some days I literally took home dozens of those breakfast sandwiches they sell for five bucks because there were literally like 50-60 of them that were all getting thrown away, I'd just stuff my backpack full of them and be set for food for the rest of the week. If I was lucky we'd also be throwing out a bunch of the paninis that they sell for like eight bucks each, sometimes I'd get ten or more of those, almost always at least one or two though

>> No.19535081

>>19529599
I've only ever gotten the regular drip coffee from there - it tasted burnt and wasn't anything special, and was very pricey at the same time. For the same price, I can get coffee from a local gourmet coffee shop that actually has really good coffee.

anytime I go in a starbucks everyone is loitering around inside.

their drink menu system is too complicated to understand.

anytime i overhear someone ordering a drink it sounds like gibberish and mumbo jumbo to me.

their drink size names are pretentious and unnecessary.

all of their 'food' is frozen and all of the items they sell are generally overpriced.

there would never be a reason for me to go there unless they were giving something for free.

the women that work there have blue and pink hair

i'd rather get a hot colombian coffee from the gas station and even that is kind of high priced.
