Coq Au Vin - the French sloppa she told you not to worry about

Give it a 6/10. You're missing all the veggies in the coq au vin and your sauce looks rather poor.

10/10, it looks like food and I'd eat it

Here is my bolognese that took like 6 hours to make. Served with freshly made tagliatelle.

Damn. Most of the mushrooms and onions are under that leg on the mashed potatoes. The sauce could have been better with more wine/less stock. I would have liked it thicker too, but people were ready to eat and it barely coated the back of a spoon. Here's what it looked like before adding to the braising pans with chicken stock :/

Don't get me wrong. The plate looks good, but just not a well executed coq au vin. I didn't see any pearl onions in the dish. I'll bump the rating up to a 7.
I forget what it's called, but adding mixed up butter + flour balls to thicken at the end doesn't take very long.

Spaghetti alla putanesca (with tomatoes and parsley from my garden) with a sazon seasoned salmon and a glass of vermouth. I need more oil in the sauce next time, it didn't want to "coat" even after mixing.

Based gardener. I grew these lovely mountain rose potatoes.

Make the sauce nearly "dry" and then add pasta water to the sauce. More than you think. Mix everything together. Add to pasta, stir for 1 minute. Longer stirring is important because it pulls starch from pasta and cools the pasta allowing the starch to thicken and blend with the sauce. Then add a healthy amount of extra virgin olive oil and stir more. Sauce shpuld stick well, be thickened nicely, and have a lovely gloss from the oil.

Look at how the sauce sticks to my pasta. >>19514105 It was truly glorious.

This looks pretty good. 6.5/10. Taking a point off because what kind of psycho drinks vermouth straight? At least make a negroni or something.

This is some "halal" style chicken I made with seasoned yellow rice, home made tzatziki and a basic red onion/tomato salad

I'm single and can't (don't want to) finish a bottle of wine myself. Port would work, but I already stock vermouth since I'm big into cocktails. Carpano Antica Formula and Dolin Rouge are both solid sippers.

Posting my pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach with sun dried tomatoes and a red wine reduction. Made this a while back and everyone loved it. Haven't taken any pics lately but I made a rotisserie chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy from giblets and fat, along side some asparagus tonight, it was amazing but I overdid the asparagus by a minute or so and it came out wilted. Sometimes hard to get everything right.
