Grill or microwave on the cob if I bought it. Or blanche and freeze if I grew it and have a lot. Or for dent corn let it fully mature and dry on the stalk in the garden and then nixtamalize. If it's flour corn or popcorn I grew I'll do the same as dent but not nixtamalize.

if you get sweet corn very fresh, from a farm stand or something, just eat it raw. my wife grew up in the northeast next to a farm with a big stand of corn and she always told me they just ate it as is and i thought she was crazy but it's really pretty great if you can get it fresh

ive been enjoying chilled, raw corn. dont see a reason to cook it anymore. put some seasoning on it and go to town. though that isnt to say corn isnt my favorite thing in a crab boil. it holds flavor very well
