If you don't eat pickled jalapenos with your fried chicken you're missing out on the best food combo there is.

The heat of the chicken cooks the jalapenos.

Correct. I won't even eat fried chicken at all unless I get my peppers. It used to be way more common here in the South to get peppers, but it's not as much anymore. If you do find a place that has them they are usually terrible peppers, mushy and lacking in heat and flavor. You see, most restaurants and people in general think a pickled jap is a pickled jap. Not so. Jalapenos pickled in escebeche are the proper flavor profile for pairing with chicken. This is different than a greek style jalapeno or even a typical nacho slice flavor. Also, different manufacturers have different ways of canning the peppers reslting in very different product, some more suitable than others. Most brands are more like soggy jalapeno shaped baby food. However, in my search for the perfect store bought chicken jalapeno I have found a brand that has the flavor AND the crispness needed for peppery chickeny perfection and that brand is La Costena.

Gravied rice is good shit. I prefer the rice to be made with chicken stock and a bit of black pepper and maybe some butter. It should be able to stand on its own and not just be a vehicle for gravy consumption. Presentation is also important. The rice should be scooped with a portioner into a neat half dome with gravy drizzled on top. Sticky Japanese sushi rice is perfect for this, or regular medium grain rice with a bit of butter and slightly overcooked will work. This way you don't end up with rice soup. OP's rice is already spread on the plate and that's a big no-no. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for serving.

You’re right. I’m going to start posting /pkg/ pickled jalapeño general threads and talk about them with the one other anon on the board that likes them.

I don't get the point of eating green jalapenos unless you turn them into poppers. Why not just eat cucumbers? They're just as spicy.

I could eat a bag of fresh green jalapenos (if I was spitting the seeds out). But they're still boring.

whats the point of your post? i have a pretty high spice tolerance but even then, eating a jar of pickled jalapenos would be very uncomfortable. after a few it just hurts your tongue and mouth pointlessly. I mean I could do it if it were a challenge but I wouldn't want to torture myself that way. you need to mix the jalapeno with something savory

You're a dumbass and you missed the point entirely. You do not have a high spice tolerance. I barely eat spicy food but when I do I can tolerate it far better than you.

Pickled jalapeños are not spicy, and I'm from the Midwest.
