I tried the tramontina carbon steel wok from Costco.. the coating scratched using a wooden spoon and then rusted so I returned it. I didn’t blue it because I live in an apartment and don’t want to set the fire alarms off, but I did heat it smoking hot and coat in peanut oil. Probably was just junk.

Yes, it should work but it would be weak ass rice. Better to cook the rice normally, dry it overnight in the fridge. Then, saute chilli oil, onions, garlic, soy sauce and chicken buillion as the base of the fried rice before mixing in the rice at high heat.
