There's the richness of the meat
The creamy and slightly funky flavor of the cheese
The acidity and crunch of the sauerkraut
The bold taste of the rye
Whether you go with Mustard or Russian dressing both bring something to the sandwich
I'd argue the reuben is among the more nuanced sandwiches out there. Considering the low number of ingredients it has a lot of different flavors that are all able to show through in each bite.
