>Use sponge twice
>It gets logged with grease and makes things dirtier instead of cleaner

How the hell do people deal with this? I just use steel wool and paper towels for everything

>> No.19370351

I use brushes and replace them every few months, like one would with toothbrushes.

>> No.19370355

use a paper towel to remove excess grease before washing. you don't want that grease congealing in your drains

>> No.19370364

>>19370343
If something is really greasy i rub the excess off with my hands before using the sponge
Or if the sponge is getting old anyways i sacrifice it then throw it away

>> No.19370374

>>19370343
we use dish soap, it breaks up and isolates the grease and grime and leaves the sponges (mostly) clean

>Skill issue
Typically I keep a dirty and clean sponge, anything super messy gets the dirty sponge, and then finished with the clean, I also do hand wash items with the clean sponge.

Also you should rinse your sponges through and wring them out a few times, then throw them in the dishwasher with your dishes to keep them clean and sanitized.

I've got this plastic scrubbing brush thing which I use to get the shit off my plates, then I just use the sponge to apply soap to the plate before rinsing it off. Then it goes in the dishwasher, because I'm a bit OCD about cleaning.

Sponges are bacteria traps, shed microplastics and don't last very long. We use steel scrubbers.

a drain snake rental isn't that much money and you only have to do it like once every 10 to 20 years and that's if you're really just pouring oil down it constantly

If you have greasy things you put dish soap into sponge, squeeze it till there is foam and then scrub.
I can't believe I am explaining how to do dishes to zoomers.

Rinse your greasy pots, pans and plates with hot water before you actually use the sponge to wash them. It's literally that easy.

My parent would always use steel wool to clean me in the bathtub. Scrubbed too hard and i would usually end up very red and be painful for several days

Best purchase. I bought a cheep store brand one which was trash and I almost gave up on brushes altogether until I bought this reputable brand one and ho-lee-phuc it has changed everything. I can blast my dishes with the hottest possible near-boiling water and scrub them with safety. And the brush can be cleaned so you don't have to worry about grease and morsels. I rarely even use a sponge anymore but when I do it's after I've used the brush and just do a final polish with it, so now my sponges don't get soiled anymore either

You kid but Cambodians, Thais, Indonesians and especially Viets, among other SEAsians, scrape their loved ones with coins, often to the point of drawing blood, in the belief that it will scrape away sickness, especially the common cold.
Like all stupid medicinal beliefs held in East and Southeast Asia, it originated in China.

Hello Aussie.
In Ameriland, Sabco is called Libman and they are precisely the brush I (>>19370351) use for the exact reasons you said. This is one of the few products I have brand loyalty for.

Huh I never knew any of this. I love a good fun fact. I also buy Sabco mops and dusters and shit. I got one of their manual carpet cleaner things that you just push around and it collects all the dust and fuzz crumbs and shit. It's fucking great.

Yeah, total tits. Like I said: one of the few things I have any sort of brand loyalty for. No others have even gotten close.
