It's more that whatever you ingested leaked out of your guts and found itself in your joints, meaning the inflammation your immune system makes when attacking shit happened there. Gut inflammation leading to leaking guts is a massively underappreciated cause of many aches and pains. It's literally the entire reason arthritis exists.

The Japanese don't do this, they happily slurp up raw eggs. It's westerners who like Japanese stuff who say this.


That said, If you've ever made this you would know that the egg does cook, it even curdles if you don't stri it enough. It couldn't get to boiled egg temperatures, but it definately cooks enough to change the taste and texture.
