A friend gave me his old keurig, I used to just use instant coffee or buy $1 gas station coffee every morning, however I’ve switched to using one of those converter cartridge pods packed with cafe bustelo pre-ground espresso and I just run the machine a few times until I get enough made to where it’s between straight espresso and coffee in terms of taste/ strength. During a power outage (ok the power company turned our power off because we were behind on the bill) I poured water I boiled on the gas stove over the espresso in a cup and filtered it through a paper towel after it steeped a bit and it wasn’t too bad but a bit weak.
Basically I’m a poorfag looking for a better way to make espresso as I’m not really fond of boiling water getting blasted through a plastic contraption. It does the job but Im sure there’s a better way.

Apparently cone-shaped filters brew stronger coffee than basket-shaped filters. I think smaller basket filters are a little closer to cone-shaped filters in terms of their shape, in that they cause the coffee grounds to be deeper.

It's probably not a big difference, but I suspect there is a difference. I have a 5-cup coffeemaker and a 12-cup coffeemaker, and doing 1 tbsp per cup in each, it seems like the coffee in the smaller one is stronger.

>can't tell the difference between 1000 micron and 700 micron grinds
I don't think this guy know how particles work. Setting any grinder to 700 micron gap doesn't give you a cup full of only 700 micron particles. It gives you a spread dependent on a number of things. An e80s and any 80mm ditting, both aligned perefctly, running the same burrs give you a different spread at the exact same gap and rpm because of the way the chambers are designed. Grinds stay in the e80s longer which bumps up the % of fines.

Just the way the burrs are. They've got a pretty narrow peak distribution for high clarity filter brewing, but a small hump of fines so you don't lose out on too much body/mouthfeel. SSP high uniformity/Weber ultra low fines would be a tighter peak without the trailing fines for even higher clarity and thinner body.

The whole time I was drinking black coffee, fuck sugar, and forwent creamer because I figured I should learn the art of coffee and become the family barista or some shit.
At heart I'm a milk and water nigga (not at the same time of course). Coffee lacks the calories of milk, and is acidic compared to water therefore worse on the teeth (I don't have dental insurance and I keep my teeth clean), and like I said caffeine isn't a thing for me so literally the only point is the taste.
I should quit black coffee and notions of manly coffee and just myself some comfy iced latte i.e. coffee flavored milk. The $20 Sam's Club tray of cookies is starting to go stale so I need to drink more milk to go with my cookies, I fucking love cookies and milk.

Ok let’s try with another question, less autistic.

Can I make a 3 cup moka like coffee using the aeropress?

Will I achieve the desired strength if I use these proportions?

What does the amount of bloom water used change about my brew? I'm using more coffee/water than the the recipes. I'm not sure if I should stick to the original bloom amount in the recipe, and then catch up on the second pour, or simply change the bloom amount to fit my new ratio.

Hey guys i need some help
I need a scale with .1g accuracy and a capacity of at least 2000g preferably 3000
I was using pic related (except 2000g max) for the last decade and it worked fantastic, except eventually the buttons have failed from flour getting under them and it can't be dissembled to clean without dissembling the balance mechanism itself.
Anyone know what a good scale to use is? preferably one with those flat buttons that dust and foodstuffs can't get behind.
I looked on Amazon and everything is chinkshit.

Yeah i looked at them, none are really what im looking for, i was hoping someone would recommend a cheap chink bench scale or something that they have used.
The coffee specific scales don't really have a big enough weigh surface to use as a kitchen scale.
>then buy a kitchen scale and a coffee scale
Im trying to avoid that, the one i have worked fine for both jobs
