Sometimes I just wanna stuff my face and not have to dick around w cooking then cleaning up.

What’s your top 5 best canned food?

I don’t eat canned food (cook it my self or skip eating) so I don’t have much to contribute except the microwaveable Cheeto Mac, which is pretty darn close to when it’s made from the box. And I know that canned condensed cream of mushroom soup is disgusting compared to from scratch. …..aaaaand that’s about all the canned food I know/eat (except a few veggies) ‘till now

Takes a couple extra steps, but sometimes when I'm lazy I'll make "spaghetti and meat sauce" by mixing canned no-bean chilli and tomato sauce. Boil noodles, strain, set aside, cook sauce in the pot, dump in noodles, eat it straight from the pot. One dish to clean, not counting just rinsing the strainer real quick.

split pea soup, tomatoes, mackarel, deens and maybe shrooms or something. more or less in this order. I don't really eat a lot of canned food except for the split pea soup.

Interesting sloppa. Would manwich can and a small can of tomato paste suffice the same?

picrel are pretty tasty.

other canned prducts I eat are chef-boy-are-dee mini ravoili though i admit i like them more for convience and nostalgia than flavor
tuna and sardines

Lately my quick dinner has been refried bean and cheese quesadilla. Just smear a spoon full of refried beans on half a tortilla, add cheese and a couple drops of ranch and salsa and fry in a pan till crispy. its good for when grilled cheese gets stale

1. Corned beef
2. Spam
3. Bush's Baked Beans
4. Sweet Corn
5. Tuna

I could probably live on just those 5 items for YEARS. I mean, obviously, I don't do that currently, because I have options, but in an apocalypse scenario, I could probably eat my listed items.

The Costco I go to has these cans of lentil soup that are pretty good. I like that they're reduced sodium so I can add other salty things like Worcestershire Sauce etc, without it being too salty. I like mix in some slices of sausage, and If I have some leftover rice or noodles I'll add some of that as well just to make it more of a full meal.

Tomatoes (sauce) for spaghetti sometimes or diced for chili
And beans.
Those are the only 2 thay come to mind. I have soups but hardly ever use em, they're just in case I get sick and dont feel like cooking.
Come to think of it the only canned stuff I use regularly is stuff for chili

I'd say any of the Chef Boyardee or Spaghetti-O varieties, but they're so greasy and a pain to clean.
Progresso Clam Chowder it is.

they're such a mixed bag but some of their soups are ok. Fun fact, their spicy jambalaya is actually hot as fuck

3/20 commenters so far named five canned goods.

Congrats to these fine gentlemen for answering the question. The other 85%, better luck next time.

Hunt's fire roasted tomatoes
White albacore tuna
Canned pinto beans
Chipotles in adobo
Progresso chicken noodle soup

For this list, I assume jarred doesn't count. Also canned corn is great, but frozen is even better.

It looks like a time-honored family tradition.

The plate has been passed down from their great grandmother, who during the lean years of the war used to sprinkle shaved barley over halved turnips (still with a dollop of mayo, though.)
