Not so likely. Humans is gregarious, social species end of the day. Ofc there is some violence but more over women and land than for food. Remember human population nowhere as big as today before IR and actually quite small before farms.

Why do you think people fought over land? It was for hunting/farming rights. More land = better food access, historically.
