I'm from Germany and here you either eat it with Ketchup or mayo.
Does American mayo taste different?

Mayo on fries isn't a huge thing in America, but I've tried it before, it's pretty good. I prefer ranch mixed with a little hot sauce personally, or just ketchup. Malt vinegar is good too if I have the option.

It's weird, I'm American and like mayo on fries but most people here hate it. However if you add some garlic and call it aioli, they're all over it. Personally, I think plain ol yellow mustard is the best for dipping fries in.
