I am an Ozomerrikan anon. I will say this, although hot dogs aren't really a thing in Australia the few you can get are pretty good even if they're very different from American fare.

Pickerel; Harry's serves their dogs up with mashy peas, hot sauce, cheese sauce, and yes beef chilli. I really like the Harry's dogs but I really can't stand Coney Island style dogs, idunno why.

I do a little of both, put like half a cm of water in with some oil or butter, toss the dawgs in on high, let them boil a few minutes until the water evaporates and then brown in the residual oil/butter.
