I make fried rice with hot and spicy spam, it’s fantastic

You just have to cook the spam for far longer than you’d ever think it needs, you get crispy surfaces and it’s still tender and juicy

Compared to ribeye steaks, SPAM is cheap as fuck. Even more so when it goes on sale at Costco.

Me and my family had SPAM, green beans and corn with mashed potatoes a few nights ago when it would have normally been costco ribeyes and no one complained. Was delicious. Even though it was costcos reduced sodium SPAM, it was still a bit salty. Really good though.

In most of America, yeah. But in Hawaii, Polynesia, South Korea, and Japan, it has always been a much appreciated part of their everyday cuisine. It makes sense that as Asian and Asian-adjacent food becomes more popular in America, Spam is also becoming more popular. Cultural norms are retarded imo. Just eat what tastes good to you.

I'd tried it out again I think.
Been decades since I had it and I'd try it fried and all.

Been at a real impasse in tastes recently where everything I enjoyed tastes like shit and the extraordinary tastes good so who knows.
I know I love corned beef and stovies when I put the effort in so maybe spam can ignite a bit of a flare long enough to stop me from necking myself the minute my local store runs out of tinned haggis and "mixed" beans.
