slow cooker, simple a hot pot that SLOWWLY cooked and sautéed food, put a meal in them in the morning, come home to a GREAT stew and other meals cooked while at work, GREAT for turning crappy meat and such into great dishes.
Rice cookers evolved from that, with sensors that prevented burnt rice(simplest/cheapest ones just cut down on the burnt rice, still only $20/30 for cooker)on up to thousand dollar ones with multiple settings, timers and abilities like making cake, yogurt, stews and other preprogramed meals

then along came INSTAPOT, the cheaper, mass american version of the expensive $1000+ dollar rice cooker, now for less than $200-300 you got a machine that does all this and more, with some having air-fryers built in.

Useful for all those without access to a stove/oven/microwave and ready access to steady power.
