There's a sushi buffet place in my town and they usually dont serve tuna or octopus but the quality is very good generally. Costs 17 euros. Feels good man.

Yeah, I was going to say $70-$80, but I haven't gotten sushi in awhile so everything's probably gone up in the last 6 months by 15%.

Perhaps is Saskatoon, in Boston or San Diego that spread would be $110 before tip.

That plating is pretty not very great. Rolls are a bit sloppy, too. I’d raise an eyebrow if a sushi chef sent that to my table.

any pics or examples of how it could be better executed?

NGMI, everyone says that American sushi is garbage anyway, so why would I pay a premium for a chef to not cook my food.
>b-but my "sushi grade" fish
No such thing, your only choice is whether the brainworms are cooked or flash-frozen.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy sushi a lot, but the markup is literally just "thing: Japan" except we're not in Japan and the guy slopping raw fish on a rice ball is Mexican.

not him but the tuna rolls do look sloppy
for one, at least the tuna piece should be a square from OP's view, and it should be at the middle of the roll, not off-center

this just proves that sushi/sashimi is a pretentious dish because people care way more about how it looks than how it tastes (it tastes like shit btw)

13€ and I can eat as much sushi as I want

Takeaway / order sushi is always expensive. Go to an all you can eat asian restaurant. Speaking of which, might do that today

I don't take a phone with me when I go outside
Here's a photo of the actual place and the trays of sushi
There's also warm food to the left with 6 different dishes every time, be it ox beef, beef, duck, chicken, pork etc. in various sauces. There's rice, fried rice, noodles, miso soup, all you can imagine.

>all you can eat sushi
you should ask for a country of origin list for the food, and staff.

>> No.19239714

>>19239695
Does the origin of the staff really matter? Most of them are asian, because no fucking shit, it's an asian restaurant, waitresses are sometimes native finns
The ingredients are mostly finnish but also from the neighbouring countries like norway, sweden or denmark
The restaurant is in cahoots with possibly the biggest supermarket chain of the country, where they sell their sushi inside the store as well for takeaway, and they get their ingredients from the store and the store gets them from within the country and the neighbouring countries.
