I worked at a microbrewery for a year in college and the owners would talk a bunch of shit on their hipster customers. they basically said the pricing was arbitrary and people would buy the 'new expensive' beer so they would just rename the seasonal beers and sell them for 3-4 months at a time. They even had me put the wrong labels on beers if we ran out of labels and they were the same style beer they didn't give a fuck

Beer's fine, closest national competitors would probably be Sam Adams, or smaller beers like Fat Tire (New Belgium), Brooklyn Lager, maybe Negra Modelo. Nothing crazy awesome, but the price is right.
Yuengling recently made a deal with Molson Coors to brew and sell in Texas, so maybe that's it.

I don't really care what kind of beer someone wants to drink. That being said, most of the craft beer enthusiasts I've encountered had to condition themselves to enjoy whatever the new super hoppy ipa was and have some of the most intolerable, shallow, and 1 dimensional personalities I've come across.

Enjoy whatever alcohol you want, just don't think following a trend is a substitution for having a personality.

The time for this was like 15 years ago. What's happening now is just depressing. People taking pictures of their beer labels and scanning the barcode on the back so they can 'check it in' on a social media app that tracks your consumption. 'Share parties' where people bring over a $29.99 22oz bottle of some overhopped garbage that fries your taste buds or motor oil that's been left in a bourbon barrel too long so they can pour it into their specialty snifter glasses (and scan the barcode to check in) before waiting to see if everyone else likes it or not.
