Going to have to poorfag it for the next 10 days due to an unexpected expense. Got $30 until then, i've got rice and some pasta so I can work with that but other than that i've basically just got spices and condiments. What are your favorite poverty recipes?

You can eat pretty well on $50 per month. The trick is buying in bulk when things go on sale. It sucks when you're just starting out, until you build up the staple items, especially spices and stuff, but it's a worthwhile lifestyle change if you're looking to save money and eat well. You can get chicken leg quarters for ~$1/lb at Walmart. Bacon is $5/lb and sometimes goes on sale for cheaper. Bacon flavors all kinds of bean, lentil and potato dishes, and chicken is cheap protein that makes stock.

Chicken
Bacon
Beef

Eggs
Milk
Butter
Olive Oil

Brown Lentils
Navy Beans
Black Beans
Red Beans
Split Peas

Rice
Pasta
Flour
Cornmeal
Oats

Oranges
Bananas
Frozen Berries

Garlic
Onions
Carrots
Celery
Potatoes

Tomato paste
Canned tomatoes
Frozen peppers and onions
Frozen vegetables

Sugar
Salt
Pepper
Chicken Bouillon
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Cayenne
Cumin
Chili Powder
Turmeric
Oregano
Thyme
Rosemary
Cornstarch
Baking Powder
Vanilla Extract
Cinnamon
Nutmeg
Worcestershire Sauce
Soy Sauce
Yeast
Honey
Coffee
Tea
Whey Protein

From this you can make all kinds of chicken dishes. All kinds of bread, pancakes and baked goods. Pork and beans with cornbread, bacon potato soup, fried chicken and baked potatoes, refried beans, spaghetti bolognese, chicken and dumplings, chicken and yellow rice, split pea soup, eggs and bacon, chicken lentil stew, beef and bean chili, egg omelettes, country fried steaks, burgers and fries, salisbury steaks with gravy, meatloaf and mash, beef stew, polenta, corn muffins, pancakes, biscuits, rolls, sandwich bread, tortillas, bread pudding, rice pudding, french toast, chess pies, clafoutis', cakes etc, etc, etc

If you shop smart and actually commit to planning and cooking your meals you can eat really well for $50. If you're starting from nothing, though, you're going to be eating a lot of the same shit over and over until you build up a pantry.

For breakfast, rice and eggs. Lunch, rice chicken thighs and frozen veggies. Dinner potatoes chicken thighs and frozen veggies.

It ain't glamorous but it tastes good and hits your macros nice and balanced while being affordable.

I like mine with peanut butter and honey but I use steel cut and you probably have rolled. I haven't tried it but some anons post about savory oatmeal dishes that use things like soy sauce and hot sauce, could be good and cheap.

I don't get it. Just go to the ATM or dip into your savings.

Savoury oats are great. My ideal recipe is as follows:
-Water and oats according to package instructions, on a stovetop. replace a bit of water with soy sauce and or add bouillon/stock
-for extra flavour, add any spices you like, some cayenne, some pepper.
-You can also put in aromatics like a minced clove of garlic
-once oatmeal is nearly done, add mixins if you have them: leftover cooked meat, canned mushrooms or vegetables, etc
-after mixins are warmed and oatmeal is back up to a boil, crack in 2-3 eggs. Break the yolks and mix them in as much as you like. Once eggs are cooked you're done.

Probably my favorite breakfast. Relatively fast with rolled oats and super filling.
