not true anon, you can make an árty soup in like 20mins. all you need is chunks of food, richness of broth, differing textures and some carbs to weigh it down. yes stews are all árty but soups can be too!

It's been a minute. As much as i like cooking, i havent really ventured into soups very deeply. Any soupbros have suggestions for something i should make? I need some deep flavors in my life. While I'm no pro, cooking is one of my favorite hobbies (especially as an architect, the wife is coming along nicely heh heh heh) and i've become a decent home cook over the years as a result, so I'm okay with stuff that might take an intermediate level of skill.

Pic tangentially related.

A few days ago. It was fine. I'd prefer all the contents on a plate instead of a bowl of water though.

I just finished eating some. I don't know if you're a purist but I make mine with chorizo. Spicy sausage is easier to come by than ham bits and it still works.

I bought tofu yesterday so I can make miso actually, had everything else handy. Not sure when I'll do it, everything is pretty shelf stable except the green onions.

Maybe last week? I usually make regular chicken and veg soup, pour it into a bowl of cooked elbow macaroni or white rice.
Sometimes add a can of tomatoes and some tomato paste if I want a little more vit c.

I still don't understand WHY they need that much sodium. Even the "low sodium" versions are like 40% daily value for 250 calories. I can make soup with about 10% daily value sodium that's just as tasty, but sometimes I don't want to.

>> No.19218962

>>19218946
we get addicted to fat, sugar, and salt. they don't care if it's unhealthy, they want you to crave their goddamn soup. honestly I keep stuff like that in the house for emergencies and maybe camping trips, but it's literally not worth the can they put it in.

I feel like they’d be pretty flavorless otherwise, it’s not like even with all that sodium they’re drowning in flavor.

I improvised it just to use up my frozen spinach, but I think it was just broth (veggie or chicken), a ton of frozen chopped spinach, add some cream and parmesan cheese, braise some chopped chicken thigh in there and walah
