How did chicken nuggets become the standard nuggets? Why do don't you see pork or beef nuggets being just as popular?

>> No.19203588

Well several cuisines have breaded and fried pork, like schnitzel for instance or chinese-american fried pork. I think it's primarily an economic thing, since pork has plenty of scrap meat/waste meat you could use for pork nuggets.

its an offcut product. Its all the left over bits. Left over pork is usually hotdogs and beef is mince. Look up advanced meat recovery if you're interested. Theres heaps of scientific articles on it.

Economics.
Scrap beef is more valuable as burger meat and animal feed
Scrap pork is more valuable as sausage
Chicken nuggets are the most valuable thing you can make with scrap chicken.

Pork nuggets are called "sausages".

>beef nuggets
That just sounds weird. Like chicken steak.

chickens eat seeds so their flesh goes with seed oil

Also pork nuggets are dim sum.

Nuggets are a great way to use up unsellable, humane grade chicken meat and cartilage from a chicken carcass after it has been split. Unsellable pork and beef is made into sausages, hot dogs, and bologna as well as ground beef and beef patties, typically ones you buy either pre-ground in tubes or frozen boxes, which is often used in extremely cheap, cost-cutting supply chains like fast food restaurants and cafeterias for schools, prisons, hospitals.

So, a mix of demand and what's most cost effective.

fried food is bad enough, chicken is among the few reasonable options other than plant-based

God I want to make some fried pork chunks now, that sounds delightful. I'm gonna do that and make some stir fry, maybe make some tigerskin eggs too. Green beans, mushrooms, onion, pepper.

Schnitzel is the size of a saucer compared to a nugget though, as opposed to bite size breaded/battered pieces of beef or pork like a nugget is.
You can get a battered burger in some UK chippies, thatd be similar to a beef nugget. Albeit bigger obviously

Wait so this exists in a British holding but they give us shit for chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken?
They probably think it's best with some curry sauce, too

Its more common in Scotland but ive seen it in a few places local to me in North West of England. Mainly in chippies that like to add lots of non traditional chippy things to the menu.
The most common is the battered sausage. Thats easy to find. If you got some sausage meat you could make little nugget shapes to make pork nuggets easy enough. That'd be nice I think

Hrm, I might like to get in on that
Is it the same type of fry batter they use for fish?
There's an authentic, British-owned chippy here, I kind of want to work there for a summer to steal their recipe
(I think the secret is gram flour, shh, don't tell anyone)

i like to take a package of "beef for stew" and coat it and deep fry it for beef nuggets

Yeah exactly the same battered. Battered sausage, battered spam and battered burger are the main battered meat stuff other than fish. Ive heard it often said that the "secret ingredient" for nice light crispy batter is cold sparkling water

kikes and muzzies don't eat pork
hindians don't eat cows
also n-words can't drink milk, and nobody uses pigs to get truffles
eggs meanwhile are a good "bi-product"

plus chicken meat is softer and less calories / higher protein, so even /fit/fags like it
also less parasites, as chickens don't eat dirt like a cow / pig, getting infected with worms
and chickens aren't even a mammal, so the diseases would be harder to transfer. salmonela only gives diarhea

Beef nuggets used to be a school lunch offering sometimes when I was in elementary school. They came in the expected nugget format, but were beef of course. I thought they were better than the chicken nuggets.
